HOW TO CREATE AN EXTERNAL USER ACCOUNT

Part II 

1. Login to CMiC Field, https://cmicweb.swinerton.com/cmicprod/SdMenu/

    

 3. Open the .CSV spreadsheet 



 


4. Pull up the job in CMiC. 

5. In the menu tree, expand the Security folder

6. Click on User Maintenance (wait for page to pull up)



7. Click Create User

8. LDAP User section: 

a. From the .csv spreadsheet, Copy the User ID

b. User ID field = Paste user name

c. click radio button for Existing Contact (AFTER pasting user name) 

9. Contact section: 

a. click radio button for Existing Contact

b. Partner field = get company name from the .csv spreadsheet, click the arrow, search for and select the company 

c. Contact field = this is a dynamic field; it will generate a list of existing employees for said Partner. Click the arrow for list of contacts, click on user’s name to populate field
DO NOT enter field values manually 
(no typing) 

*if user name is not there, go into Project Contact Directory and see if the person has been added 

10. Click Submit


 

 


 11. Expand Communication Management > click on Project Partner Directory
 12. Find the Subcontractor and click on the little people icon to open the list of contacts



 13. Find the person you are creating an account for and click on the notepad and pencil icon to open the contact profile

 

 14. Scroll down to the bottom to Security Role

 15. Click on the magnifying glass icon and select the security group (COLLAB or COLLABSUB - use the .csv spreadsheet to which one needs to be selected)
 16. Click Save
 17. Click Save in the profile to close it up

THIS IS ANOTHER WAY TO ADD THE SECURITY ROLE, BUT DOING IT AS DESCRIBED ABOVE IS FASTER

ROLE MAINTENANCE 

11. Ctrl + F to get the “Find” box at the top of window. In Step 15, you will be copying and pasting the User ID from the .csv spreadsheet into this field.  
 


12. Adding new user to a security group; in the Security folder, click Role Maintenance to open the Field Roles




13. In your .csv spreadsheet, go to the “Role” column there should only be COLLAB and/or COLLABSUB

14. In CMiC, in the column, “Role Names,” find COLLAB and COLLABSUB. In the Assign column, click the gray arrow and select Assign Users – click your mouse outside of menu and wait until the list of all users comes up



15. From the .csv spreadsheet, copy the User ID and paste it into the browser "Find" field

16. CMiC will “jump” to the name. Check the box next to the user’s name 


     

17. Scroll up to the top of the page, click Update 

      If your list of users has both COLLAB and COLLABSUB, you will need to repeat this process for each “Role”
