If you have accidentally deleted a file or folder from a server drive like Z or H, you should be able to recover an older version. NOTE: This will not work on your local hard drive (C). You should be saving important files on a network drive

Step 1: Browse to the folder which originally contained the delete file.

Step 2: Right click on the folder which contained the deleted file. If you need to restore a whole folder, you may need to go back one folder.

Step 3: Select Properties.

Step 4: From the Properties screen, go to the Previous Versions tab.

Step 5: Click on the latest folder or the last known good version. Then select Open below.

Step 6: This will open a folder containing the backup from that time.

Step 7: Locate the file you want and copy and paste it to the new location.

By design, you will not be able to copy over the file in the original location. You can, however, save it to a different location, rename it, and then put it back to its original location.
