Introduction
Employee access to company network drives is handled at the account level; as long as you are on a Swinerton network, your computer should attach your network drives to your account via File Explorer when you sign in at a division office/ jobsite or connect to the VPN client if you are remote. If you are not on a Swinerton network, you may encounter the following error, substituting the specific file path you are trying to access:
Steps
If you are missing your network drives, please make sure you have an active Swinerton internet connection. If working on an outside network, please connect to the VPN and make sure it shows "Connected" in the system tray by the clock. Then follow these steps to reconnect your network drives:
- In the system tray (by the clock at the bottom-right), right-click on the dark blue icon with the letters "SI" on it. (The IP address may pop up for a moment, wait for it to disappear)
- Select "Run Login Script".
- A black command prompt window will show; wait for it to go away (If it takes longer than one minute you can close it)
- Check to see if you can access your network drives.
This "login script" is meant to run when you log into your computer as long as you are connected to a Swinerton network. If you need to connect to the VPN after logging in, the script may not run automatically and the steps above need to be followed to manually run it. If the login script still fails to run or connect your drives, or if this is a frequently occurring issue, please submit a ticket or call BTech Support for emergencies at (866) 647-5200.
