Optimize Process Model Layout for Printing in Camunda Modeler
Optimize Process Model Layout for Printing
While Camunda Modeler does not provide native PDF export functionality, it allows exporting to image formats such as PNG, JPG, and SVG. However, these image files aren't optimized for printing on standard paper sizes.
The Print Optimization Templates are *.bpmn files designed to assist you in preparing your process model for printing. The templates feature reference borders for Letter, Legal, and Tabloid paper sizes in both Portrait and Landscape orientations. There are two variants of the template catering to specific output font sizes: 8pt and 9pt.
- Determine which font size you wish to use in the printed version of your process model.
-
Download the Print Optimization Template that corresponds to your desired font size.
- Open the Print Optimization Template in Camunda Modeler.
- Open the process model you intend to print.
- From the Print Optimization Template, copy the reference border matching your desired paper size and orientation.
- Paste the reference border into your process model and adjust your layout accordingly.
-
One your layout is finalized, remove the reference border before exporting the process model as an image file.
